Phil
has been actively involved with marginalized and incarcerated youth for over
4 years working through several Waco-based ministries---All Things Possible
and RightTrack Ministries. He also has developed an ever-widening personal
ministry focus through one--on-one mentoring and counseling.
Phil and his wife, Jan have been married for twenty-five years and currently
live in Waco, TX. He is a father of two---one in college and one a senior in
high school.
He is an elementary classroom teacher with Waco ISD and has been with them
for twenty-five years. He uses computer technology to teach kids life-long
learning lessons. He is an active presenter and advocate within the
educational system for the growing population of the high-risk and
marginalized youth.
He is an active volunteer at the Texas Youth Commission facilities at Mart
and Marlin, Waco Parole, and the
county juvenile services at Judge Logue Juvenile Justice Center. He is
also active with the CASA organization as well as the McLennan County Youth
Collaboration F.O.C.U.S mentoring program. He serves as a mentor and
student advocate in each of these areas. He is involved with the WISD
Alternative Campus as well as the McLennan County Challenge Academy.
Having mentored numerous young people, Phil has developed an effective
personal mentoring ministry that he likes to call "LifeCoaching". This
enables him to touch lives in the school setting, on the street, and in the
homes of the youth he works with.
He is the author of the "DaddyDisc" program where teen fathers are given an
opportunity to record books on CD for their children and then have the book
and CD sent to their home. He and his wife are also teaching a course,
"Operation Rebound" at Mart to better prepare the advanced-phase youth for
re-entry into their home community.
He is committed to strengthening the network of care and support for
high-risk, marginalized youth, especially in the Central Texas Area.
Please feel free to contact him with any questions about the Central Texas
Area opportunities and resources for juvenile youth.
